President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Pedro Agramunt will make an official visit to Azerbaijan on Feb. 29 - March 1, 2016, office of the Council of Europe (CoE) told Trend Feb. 26.
Agramunt plans to meet with the Speaker of the Milli Mejlis [Azerbaijani parliament] Ogtay Asadov and Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, as well as hold a number of other high-level meetings, during which the extension of bilateral relations of the parties will be discussed.
Meetings are also scheduled with the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, members of the diplomatic community and NGOs representatives.
Agramunt was elected as PACE president at the organization's winter session started in Strasbourg Jan. 25.
In 2010-2015, Agramunt worked as a co-rapporteur of PACE for Azerbaijan.
He replaced Anne Brasseur on this post.
