Payment of pensions by means of plastic cards is performed today to 504,000 retirees, which is 37% from their total number. Among them 272,000 pensioners reside in Baku and Sumgayit, the State Fund on Social Security of Population (SFSSP) told Trend. To this end, 164 cash-vending machines and 115 POS-terminals have been installed.
232,000 pensioners in the countrys other towns and regional centers receive their allowances by means of cards. For this purpose the SFSSP agent banks mounted 176 cash-vending machines and 56 POS-terminals. This year, distribution of cards among the pensioners will be continued, the Fund noted. Their total number is about 1,360 million people.
For issuing pensions the cards of the International Bank of Azerbaijan and the Capitalbank are used. The pension project has been implemented for the third year, involving the Visa International payment system.
