The Drilling Company International (DCI) has begun excavations in Iran's Mansourabad oil field with the installation of a drilling rig, Trend reports citing PetroIran Development Company’s official portal.

According to the report, these excavations are carried out within the framework of contracts on the development of 28 oil reservoirs of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC).

“It is planned to drill 12 new wells in the Mansourabad field, establish 3 oil desalination centers, increase oil pressure, and laid oil and gas pipelines,” the report said.

As reported, the Mansourabad field in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) contains about 3.7 billion barrels of crude oil reserves. Reportedly, 10,000 barrels of crude oil are extracted daily from this field.

There is 10 percent physical progress in the work carried out in the Mansourabad oil field for 6 months.

According to the plan, the daily extraction from the field will reach 25,500 barrels of crude oil for 24 months with a spending of 75 million euros.
