Georgia received $169.9 million from abroad in November 2020, which is 12.5 percent more than the amount in November 2019, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia.
Russia ($31.84 million), Italy ($25.32 million) and the United States ($19.63 million) were the largest remittance senders in November 2020.
Overall, the vast majority (93.7 percent) of all money transfers from abroad came from 18 countries.
After Russia, Italy and, the United States other countries regularly sending money transfers to Georgia in November 2020 included Greece - $18.29 million, Israel – $13.72 million, Ukraine – $9.58 million, Turkey – $9.01 million, Germany – $7.51 million, Azerbaijan – $5.49 million, Spain – $4.15 million, France – $2.50 million, Poland – $2.38 million, United Kingdom – $2.01 million, Kazakhstan – $2.27 million, Canada – $1.71 million, Ireland - $1.55 million, Cyprus – $1.10 million.
Last month, remittances leaving Georgia totaled $21.9 million, which is 0.1 percent less as compared to November 2019
