The Iranian seismological services warn people about the possibility of aftershocks after a strong earthquake on Tuesday, Mehr agency said today.

The specialists do not rule out that the strength of aftershocks can be up to 6 points on the Richter scale.

An earthquake measuring 7.5 points was registered in the Iranian town of Saravan in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province, the official website of Iran TV IRIB News reported today.

The earthquake was also felt in neighboring countries, in particular, in the Indian capital New Delhi.

At least 40 people were killed in Iran's earthquake, Iranian news agency Fars reported.

According to the preliminary data, more than 1,000 houses were destroyed as a result of the earthquake.
