Georgian President meets OSCE Chairman

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili met in Batumi with Irish Foreign Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and OSCE Chairperson-in-office Eamon Gilmore.

At the official dinner Saakashvili and Gilmore discussed the prospects for deepening of bilateral political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries.

Ireland currently chairs the OSCE and in the framework of this status the parties discussed the possibility of restoring the organisation's mission in Georgia.

Gilmore reaffirmed support for Georgia's territorial integrity and its democratic development.

The Foreign Minister of Ireland is in Georgia as part of his South Caucasus tour. On Wednesday, he will depart from Batumi to Baku.
