U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry offered condolences for victims of earthquake in Iran, State Department reported.

"The United States sends our deepest condolences for those lost in the earthquake in southeastern Iran and western Pakistan today. Our thoughts are with the families of those who were killed, those who were injured, and with those communities that have suffered damage to homes and property", Kerry's statement reads.


"We stand ready to offer assistance in this difficult time", - he added.

An earthquake measuring points at a depth of 18 kilometers in Saravan city, Sistan and Baluchestan province, IRIB news channel reported on Tuesday. The earthquake occurred at a depth of about 18 kilometers.

The earthquake was also felt in the neighboring countries, in particular, the Indian capital of New Delhi.

It is noted that this is one of the most powerful earthquakes to hit Iran over the past 40 years.
