Earlier it was reported that 23,100 tons of bananas for $15.3 million were imported into the country for 9M2020, which is 1,600 tons or $3.5 million less compared to the same period last year.

This year, the import of bananas fell on Tashkent city (11,100 tons), Fergana (6,000 tons) and Tashkent (3,100 tons) regions.
It was noted that one of the reasons for the decline in banana consumption was the disruption of supply chains during quarantine, which led to a decrease in banana imports.
According to the committee, citrus fruits were second popular fruits imported to Uzbekistan during this period. The volume of mandarins imported to Uzbekistan amounted to 22,400 tons worth $3.5 million and oranges - 2,700 tons worth $1.7 million.
