Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan to sign several documents at Aktau business forum

A business forum will be held in Aktau on Dec. 9-10 to develop and expand economic ties between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, the Azerbaijani Consulate General in Aktau said today.

A business forum will be held in Aktau on Dec. 9-10 to develop and expand economic ties between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, the Azerbaijani Consulate General in Aktau said today.

The forum will be held under the auspices of the Azerbaijani Consulate General, Azerbaijani the Association of Business Investment in Kazakhstan, the Kazakh Economic Development Ministry and the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Fund.

The forum will host an exhibition of Azerbaijani products based on a protocol signed after a recent Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan intergovernmental economic cooperation commission meeting.

During the forum, a memorandum of cooperation will be signed between the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic and Mangistaumunaigaz to improve environmental situation, as well as to clean areas that have been contaminated by oil development, production and transportation. Additionally, a memorandum of cooperation and mutual assistance will be signed between the Kazakh and Azerbaijani tourism associations. A protocol of intention will also be inked by the Kazakh AA Kazakhstan and the Kazakhs state-owned Kaspiy Operating on the establishment of a food and transport logistics center in the Aktau free economic zone.

A protocol of intent will also likely be signed between Kaspiy Operating and Sky Catering to build a factory to produce semi-finished products. A protocol of intent is also planned between Kaspiy Operating and the Azerbaijani Association of Business Investment on the allocation of land for Azerbaijani investors to build industrial enterprises in the Aktau free economic zone.
