About 1,000 soldiers and officers of the Ministry of Defence have been mobilized to eliminate the consequences of the disaster caused by the flood in the Kur River, deputy press secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan Teymur Abdullayev told Trend.
For several days, the soldiers and officers have been involved in the work of building dam on the bank of the Kur River, helping people return to villages, he said.
"Currently, the Defense Ministry's units in Sabirabad strengthen the dam and participate in addressing problems at the Sarisu Lake," said Abdullayev.
