Azerbaijani State Oil Company will hold Olympiad among schoolchildren on environmental protection.
Pupils from more than 30 countries will test their knowledge at the Olympiad, to be held from April 7-11, 2010 within the International Project for Environmental Protection "INEPO-EUROASIA". It is one of the large-scale environmental projects, the company told Trend on Tuesday.
The purpose of the olympiad is environmental issues. It informs young people about the environment, develops its positive attitudes towards the environment, forms an atmosphere of natural, cultural, historical, social and aesthetic values.
The jury will evaluate the projects presented at the Olympiad. The jury will include experienced scholars from different countries.
Concerned pupils and schools must register with their environmental projects till February 28, 2010. People interested in this event can apply to the coordinator of the Olympiad from INEPO-EUROASIA Unal Akcay and coordinator of the Olympiad from the oil company, head of external relations of the ecology company Anar Huseynov.
The event will be held with the financial support of the oil company and the joint organizational support of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Public Television and the company Chag Oyretim Ishletmeleri.
