Water level in the lower stream of Kur River in Azerbaijan is expected to rise in April and May, Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told Trend.

In April, temperature which exceeds the norm will lead to intensive melting of snow in the mountains. According to information, precipitations will be close to the climatic norm.

The ministry said that floods are expected in connection with an increase in temperature, melting of snow on the mountain tops, also as a result of heavy rains on the rivers of south-west (Kishchay, Shinchay, Talachay, Kyurmyukchay, Goychay) and north-east slope (Qusarchay, Gudiyalchay, Valvalachay, Garachay) of Greater Caucasus, as well as Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (Nakhchivanchay, Jahrichay, Alinjachay, Gilanchay) and Lankaran-Astara region (Lenkeranchay, Vileshchay).
