More than 2000 wild dump sites have been found out in Baku city and surrounding settlements
National Ecological Forecasting Centre and "EKO-REAL" LLC have carried out inventory according to order of "Tamiz Shahar" JSC to identify wild dumps sites in the areas of 11 administrative districts of Baku, JSC reported.
As a result of inventory, more than 2000 wild dump sites have been found out in Baku city and surrounding areas. The area of 38 sites of these dump sites is more than 100 m². In general, such kind of dump sites has been found out in 9 administrative districts (Garadag, Narimanov, Sabail, Surakhani, Yasamal, Sabunchu, Azizbayov, Binagadi and Khatai) of Baku city. As a result of monitoring carried out within the scope of inventory activities, it has been defined that wild dump sites are constantly burnt and these sites are being thrown waste.
A special working group with an initiative of "Tamiz Shahar" JSC consisting of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry, Baku City Executive Power and "Tamiz Shahar" JSC has been established with the purpose of abolishment of dump sites and realization of considered measurements in accordance with the legislation,.
With a view to taking prompt actions related to wild dump sites in Baku city and surrounding settlements, "Tamiz Shahar" JSC will prepare and present a comprehensive report to the attention of proper agencies as well as to the further discussion of Working Group.
