The Iranian Parliament (Majlis) has approved a bill to allocate 220 trillion rials (some $18 billion) to the administration as cash fund to be spent during the first two months of the next calendar year, which starts on March 20, Fars news agency reported.

The administration is allowed to draw out from the cash fund until the next year's budget bill is approved by the Majlis, the report added.

On Feb. 1, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad presented the administration's draft of the national budget bill for the next Iranian calendar year to the Majlis.

The proposed national budget amounts to roughly 5.1 quadrillion rials (approximately $416 billion). The national budget for the previous year envisaged about 5.39 quadrillion rials of expenditures.
