Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on Sunday called for blocking what he described as "terrorist" sites and social media pages, local media has said Anadolu Agency reported

Al-Sisi called on the United Nations to take firm measures to block these sites and pages, urging the international community to join hands in the fight against terrorism, the official Middle East News Agency added.

It did not, however, mention further details about the remarks of the Egyptian President.

Al-Sisi's remarks come only a few days after three gunmen attacked the offices of a French satirical magazine in capital Paris and killed 12 people, including eight journalists.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry participated on Sunday in a unity march against terrorism in Paris together with scores of international leaders and politicians and tens of thousands of French citizens.
