The public association "Ireli" launched a campaign of a bus tour started from Riga to Tallinn dedicated to Khojali tragedy, the report said.

Latvian, Italian, Turkish, German, Tajik young people getting education in Latvia joined the action.

A bus is plastered with posters of Khojali tragedy. Stops are planned in various cities in which local residents will be informed about the genocide committed by Armenians 18 years ago.

The action, which will end on February 27, will meet a group of local youth in Tallinn.

Books and brochures used during the tour, were provided by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

On Feb. 25-26 February, 1992 Armenian occupation forces together with the 366-th infantry regiment of the Soviet troops stationed in Khankendi (earlier Stepanakert) fired Azerbaijani Khojali town by all kinds of artillery systems, and then occupied the town in Nagorno-Karabakh of Azerbaijan, located about 23 km from Khankendi.

Armenian troops committed genocide in Khojali on Feb. 26, 1992. The tragedy began early morning. Within hours, over 613 unarmed Azerbaijani citizens were killed. Among them were 106 women and 83 children. About 1,000 people were disabled by shots; 8 families were fully destroyed. A total of 25 children lost both of their parents and 130 children lost one of them. About 1,275 people were taken prisoner and around 150 people went missing. Eight families were completely killed.
