Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr Z. Safarov / Though world championship in Baku has not begun yet, I am sure the city is ready to host such an important competition, the president of the International Wrestling Federation (FILA), Raphael Martinetti, said at the press conference in Baku.
Martinetti said he was glad such a large-scale competition would take place in Baku. "There are several reasons for that, for the competition is expected to be a record one regarding the number of countries and participants. Moreover, the licenses to Beijing will be contested and that attaches additional interest to the competition," he stressed.
Martinetti has no doubts the championship will be held at the highest level if the organizing abilities of Azerbaijan are considered.
