( dpa ) - Former Mexico and United States international Martin Vasquez is to be appointed assistant to Juergen Klinsmann at Bayern Munich from next season, Germany's Bild newspaper reports in its edition to appear Thursday.
The Mexican-born Vasquez, who has US citizenship, is currently assistant trainer at US Major League Soccer club Deportivo Chivas.
There was no immediate confirmation to the report from Bayern Munich.
According to Bild, 44-year-old Vasquez will join Klinsmann at Bayern Munich from July 1, when the former Germany coach takes over as successor to Ottmar Hitzfeld.
Vasquez and Klinsmann have known each other since 2004 when Klinsmann was sports director of Los Angeles Galaxy and Vasquez was assistant.
