Forty percent of deaths in Turkey are caused by cardiovascular diseases, the Zaman newspaper reported on Wednesday with reference to the report of the Turkish Association of Cardiologists.
According to the report, every year about 207,000 people in Turkey die from cardiovascular disease.
"According to specialists, in 2015, 20 million people, in 2030 about 23.6 million people worldwide will die from cardiovascular disease," the report says.
According to the newspaper, special health programs are created in Turkey, which are aimed at reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.
