Türkiye’s Aksa Enerji boosts its power production volume in Uzbekistan

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 8. The Turkish Aksa Enerji company, with the commissioning of the Talimercan Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant, increases its installed power capacity in Uzbekistan to 1,170 MW, Trend reports.

According to the company, the total capacity of the plant amounts to 430 MW.

Meanwhile, Aksa Enerji launched two power facilities at the start of 2022, including a 240 MW combined-cycle power plant in the Kibrai district of the Tashkent region and a 270 MW gas-piston TPP in the Bukhara region.

Earlier, the company and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade signed an agreement for the construction of a $250 million-worth thermal power plant (TPP) in the Nishan district of Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya region.

Construction work is set to begin in December 2023, and the commissioning of the facility is scheduled for the end of 2024.

The company expects to launch a 400-MW power plant by the end of 2024. Aksa Enerji will provide the plant’s design, financing, construction, and operation for 25 years.
