TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 8. Turkish Cashm Barlas enterprise wants to realize an investment project worth $2 million for the production of various types of footwear in Uzbekistan, Trend reports.
The Uzbek Uzcharmsanoat Leather and Footwear Association and investors from Türkiye's Cashm Barlas enterprise reviewed the matter at a meeting.
The guests received information about small industrial zones that specialize in the leather and footwear industries during the meeting.
The parties discussed practical aspects of the investment project realization. Specifically, we will import 70% of the equipment from Türkiye.
In addition, the Turkish side plans to buy land in small industrial zones specializing in the leather and footwear industries in the Tashkent region through an auction, construct a building, and establish a new enterprise.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan’s trade turnover volume with Türkiye amounted to $656.3 million from January through March 2024. This figure is 20.1 percent lower compared to the same period last year ($821.4 million in January–March 2023).
The volume of exports amounted to $261.9 million, while the imports amounted to $394.4 million from January through March 2024.
