BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 8. Iran's gas processing plants processed a total of 277 billion cubic meters of natural gas last Iranian year (March 21, 2023–March 19, 2024), according to Ahmad Zamani, Head of Production Control and Coordination Department of Iran's National Gas Company, Trend reports.
He claims that the country's gas network has received the specified volume of gas.
Following the agreement with gas processing companies last year, Zamani noted that processing and repairs continued. As a result, processing has increased from 94 percent to 100 percent.
According to the official, processing and repairs will continue in the country's gas processing plants during the current Iranian year, which runs from March 20, 2024, to March 20, 2025.
To note, Iran is considered the second-largest gas reserve country in the world, with approximately 34 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves. Presently, 22 gas fields are operating in Iran. Iran produces 1.07 bcm of rich gas from its gas fields daily.
