ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 8. Turkmenistan is launching the second stage of the Baharden Cement Plant, which has a capacity of 1 million tons of products per year and is located in the Ahal region in the south of the country, Trend reports.
According to an official source, in accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the second stage of this plant was built by the 'Beýik-Bina' private enterprise.
The large German KHD Humboldt Wedag engineering company was involved in the project, which supplies equipment and services, including process design and project management, for the global cement industry.
Leading global manufacturers have equipped the new plant with advanced equipment, enabling it to produce high-quality cement of various brands, including sulfate-resistant portland cement.
In the meantime, one of the biggest such businesses in the Central Asian region is the Baharden Cement Plant, which went into operation in February 2005.
The construction sector in Turkmenistan is a key element of the economy, and the production of building materials occupies an important place in this industry.
Because of its developed base of natural resources and investments in modern technologies, the country actively produces cement, bricks, building blocks, metal structures, and other building materials, providing construction projects both domestically and abroad.
