TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 8. Uzbekistan's Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC) launched a new photovoltaic power plant at its zinc factory, Trend reports.
AMMC said the new photovoltaic power plant will power the electrolytic shop and home building No. 1.
A total of 364 photovoltaic panels with a total capacity of 200 kWh were installed at this plant.
At the zinc facility, the combine built three 500-kWh solar photovoltaic stations. They produce 800,000 kW annually. This reduces production costs and electricity purchases significantly.
Meanwhile, AMMC expects to make 32.2 trillion soums ($2.5 billion) in industrial items, $2.01 billion in investment projects, and one trillion soums ($79.2 million) in localized products in 2024.
From January through February 2024, the combine met all production indicators by 120.3 percent.
