Uzbekistan reveals trade turnover of grain, cereal products in 3M2024

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 8. Uzbekistan’s trade turnover of grains and cereal products amounted to $328.4 million from January through March 2024, Trend reports.

The data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency shows that the recorded volume has decreased by 29.4 percent compared to the same period last year ($465.2 million in January–March 2023).

From January through March 2024, Uzbekistan exported $98.3 million worth of grains and cereal products. This indicator shows a 22.2 percent decrease year-on-year ($126.4 million in January–March 2023).

At the same time, the volume of grain and cereal product imports reached $230.1 million during this period. The recorded volume is 32 percent lower year-on-year ($338.8 million in January–March 2023).

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's trade turnover volume amounted to $15.8 billion from January through March 2024. This is 6.2 percent higher year-on-year ($14.8 billion in January–March 2024).

China recorded the largest trade turnover volume ($3 billion) during this period. Russia ranks second with a total trade turnover volume of $2.8 billion, followed by Kazakhstan ($937.7 million).
