ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 8. The aggregate number of ATMs in Turkmenistan was 2,145 units as of the beginning of May this year, which is slightly higher than the previous month's 2,144 units, Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, the country's capital, Ashgabat city, is the leader in ATM concentration (452 units), followed by Mary (443 units) and Lebap (437 units) regions.
The Dayhanbank State Commercial Bank has the largest number of ATMs (1,022), followed by the Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank (441 units) and the Turkmenbashi Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (356 units).
Furthermore, over the past seven years, the quantity of ATMs in Turkmenistan has more than doubled, growing from 924 units on January 1, 2016, to 2,145 units by January 1, 2024.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan has showcased the sustainable advancement of its financial sector, which is evident across multiple facets of its economic framework.
