BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 27

By Sadraddin Aghjayev – Trend:

The Russian QIWI payment system is ready to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of mutual money transfers, Director of the QIWI Financial Services Sales Department Roman Cherkayev told Trend.

According to Cherkayev, at present QIWI is already working in Azerbaijan in the field of payment services.

"Our company has been researching the markets of post-Soviet countries for a long time and is actively working in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and a number of other countries. We are very interested in the Azerbaijani market. We work in Azerbaijan through a company that is part of the QIWI group (CONTACT money transfer system). Thus, we have established cooperation with many Azerbaijani banks," he said.

The head of the department also said that to date, non-cash transfers of funds have been established through the QIWI mobile wallet and the Russian banking application to the bank accounts of Azerbaijani users by phone number or bank card.

"We can also integrate into a mobile application of any Azerbaijani bank and bring our services to the local market. That is, we can make payments through Azerbaijani banking applications to the accounts of Russian banks, mobile providers, QIWI wallets and provide a number of other services," Cherkayev noted.

Besides, according to him, the company mainly works with individuals.

"QIWI products are focused on individual businessmen," he added.
