Turkmenistan reveals total areas for potato planting in Sayat district

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 9. The total area sown with potatoes in the current agricultural year in the Sayat district of the Lebap region of Turkmenistan will amount to 300 hectares, Trend reports.

Official data indicate that this year, Turkmen farmers anticipate harvesting 14 tons per hectare of cultivated land in the region, which will result in a total yield exceeding 4,200 tons of potatoes.

During this season, the entirety of the Lebap region intends to cultivate 1,400 hectares of land, aiming to yield approximately 19,600 tons of potatoes.

Farmers employ irrigation techniques, engage in inter-row cultivation, and utilize a blend of organic and mineral fertilizers to enhance crop growth and increase productivity.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan is dedicated to realizing sustainable agricultural advancement by modernizing its infrastructure, embracing cutting-edge technology, and expanding production diversity.
