The 6th International Investment Forum, Aktobe Invest 2018 has wrapped up in the Kazakh city of Aktobe, Trend reports citing the Kazakh media.
The forum participants agreed to implement 9 promising projects worth 300 billion tenge.
In particular, it is planned to build a waste recycling plant in the near future in Aktobe. Kazakhstan BAB Investment Group Co. LTD will invest 185 billion tenge in the project. Also, Belarus' Lidselmash Holding intends to begin construction of a plant for agricultural machinery production.
In addition, Finnish Uros Group intends to develop and apply IT technologies in the housing and communal services of the Aktobe region.
Russian Ufaneftegazmash plans to build a plant for production of oil and gas field equipment.
Speaking at the forum, governor of the region, Berdibek Saparbayev thanked the guests for participation and noted that the great number of investors are attracted to the region.
"A number of investors from Turkey, China, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia and other countries came to our region. The list of the attracted transnational companies, which are the main drivers of the economy, is expanding," he said.
This year more than 400 participants from 23 countries attended the forum. The participants included the representatives of the Kazakh government, ministries and regional administrations, Kazakh businessmen and foreign investors. The foreign guests included representatives of China, South Korea, Azerbaijan, the EU, Belarus, Russia and Uzbekistan.
It is worth noting that 2.2 trillion tenge has been invested in the economy of the Aktobe region over the past five years. This year alone it is planned to reach 510 billion tenge of investments.
