The UK will remain Georgia’s important ally and supporter, said the newly appointed Minister of State for Europe and the Americas, Christopher Pincher, Trend reports via agenda.ge.

Minister Pincher made the remarks during a phone conversation with the Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani.

Minister Zalkaliani congratulated Christopher Pincher on becoming UK’s Minister of State. He also hailed bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Georgia and the United Kingdom in a number of spheres and hoped their ties would become even more dynamic.

Zalkaliani spoke of the importance of the annual Wardrop Strategic Dialogue as well, which brings together key elements of UK-Georgia bilateral relation.

‘Wardrop Strategic Dialogue’ is named after Sir Oliver Wardrop, the connoisseur of the Georgian language and culture who was the UK’s first Chief Commissioner of the Transcaucasus in Tbilisi from 1919 to 1920. It covers political, defense security and foreign policy, economic and commercial and people-to-people issues.
