The next project of Ukraine's Odessa Maritime Engineering Bureau in Azerbaijan is the construction of railway-automobile-passenger ferries for the Caspian lines of CNF18C project, Gennady Egorov, director general of the bureau, told Trend.
Egorov said that the new ferry of the CNF18C project is designed to carry 56 rail cars with a gauge of 1,520 mm, trucks (50 road trains) and 100 passengers, with a stern cargo handling scheme for rail cars and automobiles and with an onboard ramp for loading and unloading vehicles to ordinary berths.
Marine Engineering Bureau implements several major projects in Azerbaijan jointly with Baku Shipyard LLC and the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), while in Russia the Bureau is mainly engaged in the construction of cruise ships and tankers, bulk carriers, in Kazakhstan - bulk carriers and transport tugboats, and in Turkmenistan - tankers.
The Baku Shipyard is building four tankers with a deadweight of 7,875 tons and two rail-car-passenger ferries for the Caspian lines of the CNF18C project and others.
