Iran shares data on production of Nakhlak Lead Complex

The Nakhlak Lead Mining Complex in the Isfahan Province (central Iran) produced 3,960 tons of lead concentrate during the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021), the head of Nakhlak Lead Mining Complex Arif Bagheri said, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

The official noted that the lead concentrate production for the 5 months increased by 48 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. While in the same period last Iranian year, the complex produced 2,670 tons of lead concentrate.

"In addition, the volume of minerals extracted in the complex within five months, increased by 27 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year and amounted to 76,600 tons. While in the same period last Iranian year, this figure was 60,300 tons," he added.

According to Bagheri, a total of 5,570 meters of excavations were carried out in the mines of the complex. This is an increase of 24 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

The official said with the continuation of exploration operations, the extraction potential of the complex is expected to increase from 1 million tons to 3 million tons by the middle of 2023.
