BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 3. The number of ATMs in Azerbaijan as of the end of March 2024 amounted to 3,152 units (2.74 percent growth compared to the same period in 2023), Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), there were 1,639 ATMs in Baku (3.02 percent growth) and 1,513 in regions (2.44 percent growth) at the end of March 2024.
The number of POS terminals installed in trade and service facilities in the republic amounted to 91,755 units, which is 13.66 percent more than in the same period of 2023. Meanwhile, a total of 59,638 POS terminals were installed in Baku (9.32 percent growth), and 32,117 POS terminals were installed in other regions (22.7 percent growth).
During the reporting period, a total of 88,962, or 96.95 percent, of all POS terminals were installed in retail trade objects. The number of POS terminals accepting contactless payments at the end of March amounted to 89,141 units (an increase of 24.74 percent).
To note, 3,112 ATMs were functioning in Azerbaijan at the end of 2023, of which 1,621 were in Baku and 1,491 were in other regions of the country. The number of POS terminals at the end of 2023 amounted to 83,584 units.
