ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 3. About 4,480 remittances through International Money Transfer Systems (IMTS) were made from Türkiye to Kazakhstan in March 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the volume of transfers amounted to 1.434 billion tenge (about $3.22 million).
At the same time, 28,140 transactions through IMTS were made from Kazakhstan to Türkiye for a total amount of 14.756 billion tenge (about $33.2 million).
Thus, Türkiye ranks second in terms of money transfers from Kazakhstan and fifth in terms of money transfers to Kazakhstan. In March 2024, Türkiye's share of remittances to and from Kazakhstan amounted to 7.2 percent and 24.9 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the total volume of money transfers through international money transfer systems (IMTS) in Kazakhstan amounted to 196,200 transactions worth 61.5 billion tenge (about $138 million) in March 2024.
Compared to February 2024 (187,600 transactions worth 60.3 billion tenge, or $135 million), there has been a 4.6 percent increase in the number of transfers and a 2 percent increase in the volume of transactions.
