Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / The World Bank is prepared to provide assistance to Azerbaijan in applying international practice to improve the business climate in the Country.
The Chief of Entrepreneurship Development Policy of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development, Samir Nuriyev, said that the author of WB (World Bank) Report, "Doing Business 2007: How to Carry Out Reforms", Semiona Dyankova, is expected to pay a visit to Baku on 15 May. His first visit to Baku took place from 30 January - 3 February 2007.
According to Nuriyev, consultations will be held with Dyankova with regards to the implementation of the decree on 30 April signed by the President of Azerbaijan regarding several measures on entrepreneurship development. It envisages applying the 'one window' principle (unified registration body) as a result of which it will be possible to reduce the registration period of the new enterprises from 53 to 10 to 15 days.
The system 'one window' envisages applying a combined code for each entrepreneur, but presently it needs to receive separate codes at the Taxes Ministry, Ministry of Justice, State Statistics Committee.
"Presently several proposals are considered regarding creating the unified coding system via virtual database or unifying all codes of various State bodies for the old enterprises, but new enterprises will be issued with one code," Nuriyev said.
That report Doing Business 2007 prepared by the World Bank in co-operation with International Finance Corporation presents the rating of 175 countries on the degree of simplicity of conditions to carry out business.
