Azerbaijan, Baku, 2 September / Trend / The United States has imported 8mln barrels oil from January to June 2008, against 8.2mln barrels in the same period in 2007, the United States State Energy Information Agency reported.
In 2007, US imported some 20.643mnl barrels oil from Azerbaijan, against 9.744mln in 2006.
The main route for Azerbaijani oil export is the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline to the Turkish Ceyhan port.
Azerbaijani light oil is exported from the Georgian Supsa port via the Baku-Supsa pipeline. At present, operation of the pipeline has been suspended for security purposes.
Oil is also exported from the Georgian Black Sea Batumi port via the railway from Baku, as well as Novorossiysk port via the Baku- Novorossiysk pipeline.
