BP Azerbaijan Receives Two New Ships from Bue Caspian Alliance

Azerbaijan, Baku, 25 September /corr. Trend S.Aliyev / The ceremony of launching two ships supplied by the alliance Bue Caspian to BP Azerbaijan took place in Baku on 25 September.

Bue Caspian, which is an alliance between SOCAR and Bue, won the tender announced by BP. The cost of the ships Caspian Gala and Caspian Briz totaled nearly $250mln. The total number of the ships provided by Bue Caspian over six years reached 10.   

The Caspian Gala ship was produced at the Norwegian plant SIMEK. It was equipped with the dynamic system of positioning (DP2). The area of the deck of the ship is 680 sq.m.

The high-speed Caspian Briz ship was produced at the Dutch plant DAMEN. Its speed composes 28 knots. Together with 50 passengers, the ship can transport 40 tons of cargo.

Both ships will serve the platforms on the fields of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli and Shah Deniz, operator of which is BP Azerbaijan.  

Over the next two years, Bue Caspian plans to bring three more ships to Azerbaijan.
