Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 7 / Trend corr. E. Ismayilov/

Daily gas transmissions from the Bakgaz Production Unit (PU) to the Baku gas system amount to 13.5 million cubic meters, a source at the PU told Trend on Jan. 7.

The PU transmitted 2.11 billion cubic meters to the Baku gas system from January to November 2008.

A total of 234 million cubic meters were transmitted to Baku's gas system in November, 147.3 million cubic meters in October, 110.83 million cubic meters in September and 98.3 million cubic meters in August.

The PU refused to continye the seasonal gas transmission schedule for the capital. The amount of transmitted gas will be based on consumer demand. The seasonal schedule was used in the past to promote rational gas usage in the colder months of the year in the absence of gas meters. Today, all subscribers have meters, the source said.

In past years, the PU shifted from the winter to the summer schedule in mid-April, reducing the amount of transmitted gas to subscribers. The PU shifted to the winter schedule on Nov. 15. A total of 3 million or 4 million cubic meters of gas were transmitted daily in the summer. This figure reached 10 million-13 million cubic meters daily in the winter.
