Passenger transport income in Eurasian corridor increases by 16 percent

Around 54.1 million tons of cargo were transported through the Eurasian transport corridor through Azerbaijan in January-November which is 4.2 percent more than the same period of 2012, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told Trend today.

Some 46.1 percent of the total volume of transported cargo fell to automobile transport, 36.4 percent to railway and 17.5 percent to maritime transport.

About 260 million people were transported within the corridor in January-November which is 9.4 percent more than in the same period of 2012, according to the committee.

Cargo transport income within the corridor amounted to 421 million manat which is 7.3 percent more than in the same period of 2012. The volume of passenger transportation income amounted to 86.6 million manat which is 15.8 percent more than in January-November 2012.

The official exchange rate is 0.7843 AZN/USD on Jan. 24.
