Azeri Communications Minister Left for turkey on an Official Visit

The delegation of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies headed by the Minister Ali Abbasov left for Turkey on an official visit, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry.

The primary goal of the visit is to participate in the Plenipotentiary Conference of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) scheduled to take place from November 6 to 24 in Antalia.

The Plenipotentiary Conference is a higher body of the ITU. The conference held every four years will define the common policy, adopt the four-year strategic and financial plan and elect the Head of the Organization, member of the Council and members of the Radio Regulation Committee. It is a key event, during which the 191 ITU member-countries make a decision on the role of the Organization in the future.

The members of the sectors (recognized exploitation organizations, scientific and industrial organizations, as well as financial institutions or institutions for development) will also attend the conference as observers.

During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation is expected to hold bilateral meetings with the representatives of the state bodies and private sector of ITU member-countries.
