In total, 4.14 million tons of essential products have been unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021) to date, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.
According to the report, these products were unloaded from 73 ships. The volume of unloaded essential products increased by 3 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
“In addition, 3.62 million tons of essential products were transported from the Imam Khomeini port to various provinces of Iran within the mentioned period,” the report said.
So, 379,000 tons of essential products were transported from the Imam Khomeini port by railways, while 3.24 million tons - by trucks, the report said.
According to the report, the transported essential products were wheat, corn, barley, oilseeds, soybeans, rice, cooking oils.
