BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan has prepared a draft of measures to develop passenger traffic in the regions of the country, Trend reports via Uzbek media outlets.
The project of the ministry provides for a plan to purchase 5,000 buses by the end of 2026, which will be used to launch 278 new routes.
Also, within the framework of the project, loans will be issued for a period of five years for the purchase of vehicles with a grace period of up to one year. At the same time, part of the interest payments on the loan is compensated at the expense of local budgets.
According to the project, from January 1, 2023, the ministry plans to launch a unified electronic system for selling tickets for intercity and international bus routes. The E-Vokzal platform will be used to monitor bus stations.
