Coalition Forces Launch Mopping-Up Operations in Afghanistan’s Khost Province

Afghanistan, Kabul, 1 November / Trend corr. A.Hakimi/ The Afghanistan and coalition forces detained three militants and killed 12 during the mopping-up operations against Taliban movement and the Hakkani network of foreign fighters in the Khost and Zabul provinces.

The first joint operation was intended to reveal explosives in Khost, as well as against the Hakkani movement. One of the suspects was detained.

As a result of the second joint operation of the Afghanistan and coalition forces in the Zabul province, two people suspected to be the Taliban militants were detained.

Khost and Zabul provinces have been experiencing unrests since President Karzai came to power.
