Georgia, Tbilisi, Feb.2 / Trend corr N. Kirtzkhalia /
Belarus would be taking an unfriendly step by recognizing Abkhazia's and South Ossetia's independence.
It is too early to make forecasts, but the current trend does not mean that Minsk will recognize the separatist regions, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister David Jalagoniya said at a briefing on Feb. 2.
Jalagoniya said Georgia is watching the process with concern.
"We understand how Belarus is being pressured by Russia," he added.
The Belarusian parliament will vote on recognizing the breakaway territories on April 2.
