A large consignment of cigarettes smuggled into Azerbaijan from Iran was seized in Yardimli, the Yardimli Police Department told Trend .
Police detained Tahir Tahirov, 43, who smuggled 5,000 South Korean Esse cigarettes into the country in the early morning of Feb. 23.
About 2,500 cigarettes of the same brand were seized in Arush on Feb. 21.
Sabir Mirzayev, 29, was detained.
An investigation is underway in both cases.
