In the letter to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu demanded to cancel Israel's destroying Palestinian houses and illegal constructions in Jerusalem, the OIC press-release said.

OIC Secretary General Ihsanoglu in his request to Washington urged to press on Israel and cancel evicting Palestinians from their houses to expand the Jewish settlements in Jerusalem, which from international law point of view, belongs to the territories occupied by Israel.

The right Israeli government of Binyamin Netanyahu is expanding construction of the Jewish settlements in the West Bank, where Palestinian Administration intends to establish an independent state.

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman stated about expanding the Jewish settlements which comprises 40 percent of the Palestinian territory in the West Bank during the pre-election campaign in February.

Last week, the League of Arab States convened an urgent assembly of the Arabian foreign ministers to take measures against destruction of the Palestinian houses, as well as stop construction near the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Ihsanoglu stressed in his letter that the described actions of Israel which undermine security and stability in the region hinders international efforts to restore peace in the Middle East, especially when the US administration announced strengthening relations with the Islamic world.
