"Picasso in Georgia" exhibition will be held in Signagi on May 27 upon the initiative of the Georgia National Museum and the General Council of the Ion Department of France.
The National Museum reported that the unique works by Pablo Picasso will be exhibited during the three months in three cities - Signagi, Tbilisi and Batumi.
From May 30 to June23, the exhibition will be in Signagi, then on June 28 - in Tbilisi at the Museum of Arts named Shalvy Amiranashvili, and from 8 August to 6 September, the exposition will be exhibited at the Museum of Arts in Adjaria.
Project partners are the Ministry of Culture, Monuments Protection and Sport of Georgia, Embassy of France in Georgia, the Tbilisi city council, the French Culture Center of Alexander Dumas, Kakheti regional administration, the Bank "Republic", the Ministry of Education and Culture of Adjara and several private companies.
The exhibition will feature 40 works by the artist from the museum collection of city Wesel Zervos of the Ion department.
In February 2008, General Director of Georgian National Museum David Lordkipanidze and President and General Council of the Ion Department of France, Senator Andre de Renkur signed a cooperation agreement which provides for the exchange of exhibitions of Picasso and Pirosmani.
In autumn 2008, Zervos exhibited 17 paintings by Niko Pirosmani.
