The Military Prosecutor of Azerbaijan has been invited to the 5th International Conference on Military Criminal Law, to be held in September in Budapest.
The Chief Military Prosecutor of Hungary Arpad Kovach handed over the invitation for the conference to the Military Prosecutor of Azerbaijan Khanlar Veliyev, the press service of the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Republic told Trend.

Today, Veliyev received the delegation headed by the Chief Military Prosecutor of Hungary Arpad Kovach, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan.

Speaking about the activities conducted by the State to modernize the judicial system, establish a legal framework that improves the activities of the prosecutor and military prosecutor, Veliyev also provided guests with detailed information about the history, structure and activities of the Military Prosecutor's Office.

Mentioning the growing friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary, he noted that it creates a good basis for the development of links between human rights agencies of both countries. Veliyev added that there are great prospects for deepening these ties, and stressed the need to take maximum advantage of this opportunity.

The Military Prosecutor also said that more than one million people have became refugees and internally displaced persons as a result of Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan, spoke about the torture of captured persons, genocide against Azerbaijanis committed by Armenian armed forces as a result of terror and other criminal offenses.

Kovach expressed satisfaction with the discussions around the issues of mutual interest for the military prosecutor's offices of both countries, and said that he gained most pleasant impression from his visit to friendly Azerbaijan.

Noting that the relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary, as well as between the relevant agencies will continue to develop, Kovach stressed the necessity of mutual visits to further strengthen the links between human rights agencies of both countries.

During the visit, the delegation was also received by the Chief of the State Border Service, Lieutenant-General Elchin Guliyev, Chief of General Staff of the Ministry of Defense, Colonel-General Nadjmeddin Sadikhov.
The delegation visited the Training Centre of the State Border Service and other military units and met with staff.

The guests also visited the mass burial of Azerbaijanis in Guba killed during the genocide committed by the Armenians.
