Speaker of the Parliament Oktay Asadov is invited to visit Pakistan, deputy of the Senate of Pakistan Mir Jan Jamali said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan Dashgin Shikarov, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Pakistan said on Friday.
Jamali expressed confidence that this visit will promote the development of relations between the parliaments and peoples of both countries.
The Senate clearly proved that Pakistan is in favor of justice by taking a resolution condemning the occupation of Azerbaijani territories and the Khojaly genocide on Feb.1, Shikarov said at the meeting. The Ambassador noted that Pakistan supported Azerbaijan in all matters, including Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
The Foreign Relations Committee, Committee of Information and Broadcasting, committee positions and privileges of the Senate of Pakistan, as well as Secretary General of the People's Party and members of other committees of the Senate participate at the meeting.
