Turkmenistan discloses total areas for potato planting in Halach district

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 10. The total potato cultivation area in the ongoing farming season within the Halach district of the Lebap region in Turkmenistan has reached 130 hectares, Trend reports.

According to official statistics, this year Turkmen farmers expect to harvest 14 tons per hectare of cultivated area in the region, leading to a total potato yield surpassing 1,820 tons.

Throughout this season, the entire Lebap region plans to cultivate 1,400 hectares of land, with the goal of producing around 19,600 tons of potatoes.

Farmers utilize irrigation methods, practice inter-row cultivation, and employ a combination of organic and mineral fertilizers to improve crop growth and boost productivity.

In the pursuit of sustainable agricultural progress, Turkmenistan is focused on modernizing its infrastructure, integrating state-of-the-art technology, and broadening production diversity.
